This is a possibility, yes. Not a certainty, but something we’re looking at. That said, it wouldn’t be “ownable” in the same way. In other words, if you buy during the Kickstarter, you will receive DRM-free files that are yours to keep. Digital products “sold” through certain online sources are oftentimes “locked” into those sites where you “license” rather than “purchase.” This means that products can be remove from their stores based on participation in subscription services (or other factors). Obviously, we have no control over their policies, so we encourage you to get the digital products here at Kickstarter from us as no one can ever “takeaway” the digital files you paid for.

Your order will ship all together when all parts, e.g. books, add-on’s, etc.–are complete and able to be packaged together. For example, if ordered a Trade Hardcover and a Fully-Signed Edition, they will ship when we have the Fully-Signed Edition ready, which will come a few months after the Trade is ready.

The Kickstarter “Add-on” feature has a number of limitations. But don’t worry - you WILL be able to get the add-ons you desire.

First of all . . . if you are using the app, go to a computer and use the website. There seems to be a problem with add-ons when using the app.

Second . . . if you are at a digital reward level, you will not see any of the “physical add-ons” - like BellRinger of Songs of the Dead. This is because Kickstarter doesn’t allow “physical” add-ons to digital products. But don’t fret - you WILL be able to do this - but it will happen AFTER the Kickstarter ends.

We (and most Kickstarter admins) use Pledge Manager software, this is where we get your addresses and post-Kickstarter adjustments can be made (like moving to a higher reward level or selecting additional items. So, you WILL be able to do mix/match digital rewards and physical items at that time.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but there is nothing we can do about either of these things - it’s because Kickstarter has some features they’ve not yet implemented with regard to Add-ons.

Yes. Kickstarter doesn’t actually provide ANY addresses to the campaign creator. Those are gathered as a 2nd step after the Kickstarter is over - this is generally known as “the survey stage” - although that’s a really bad name because most people think of “surveys” as a “tell us how we did thing.”

There are two aspects about people who will be moving.

1. The time from when you pay until when we can ship is quite long - because all the rewards and add-ons need to be created and shipped to us. So the first consideration is to look at the “ship date” for your reward level - if you think you may be moving “around that time” - send a message (or make a comment) and we put a “flag” on your order to check with you about shipping.

2. If you ended up moving between the time you initially filled out the survey and when we the shipping date is approaching, you can change your address. We will be using a pledge management system and right before we extract the address information we’ll warn people about the impending “address lock down” - you’ll have several days to go in and update your record. That said, the ability to change your address can be done at anytime after your initial survey, so as soon as you move, go in and update it! There is no reason to “wait” for the lock-down notice.

No. Your “backer number” was assigned when you initially backed the project and it doesn’t change even if you switch reward levels or modify add-ons. There are a few people who “cancelled’ their pledge entirely and made a new pledge - but we have flagged their new records to indicate they should get the free early bird reward. We’ll do our best to continue to “match” up people who cancel and repledge, but if you are concerned, add a comment or send a message, and we’ll put a note on your record to ensure you get the card.

It’s highly unlikely. The authors who are participating not only donated their stories but they donated their time for signing 2,000 signature sheets. These sheets have already been printed and “circulated” plus, the people who pledged at the “fully signed level” - did so knowing because the quanities were limited.

All that said, people do “shift their pledges” from time to time - especially right at the end - so you should check the project because there have been “small windows” where fully signed copies “open up.”

We are planning staged drops in groupings vs. piecemeal releases. After the Kickstarter ends and we have firmer timelines for the production of all the rewards, will post an update with more likely timelines for these drops. When the Kickstarter launched, our plan was to use faux-leather for the fully signed and the Pacfic Northwest partially signed editions. As various stretch levels were reached we upgraded the material to Metallium™ which is a high end expensive cloth with greater durability and a metal-like shimmer. This decision was made after a survey of backers indicated a huge preference for Metallium, but some backers (who didn’t watch updates) may not have seen that the cover material changed.

Because some states treat digital books (both ebooks and audiobooks) as a taxable product, we need to know your state and city in order to determine if sales tax needs to be collected for your goods. If you do not wish us to know your full address type in something generic like 101 Main Street that way you can keep your location private, but city and state will be required for sales tax purposes.
